We here at Flora Rose want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween. We also want to remind everyone to be be safe out there tonight. Our boys are already negotiating trades of there favorite candies that they haven’t even received yet. We all have a love affair with Halloween. Even if you don’t like the scary and spooky you can’t help but smile when you see all the kids is costumes so happy with the loot they are collecting. Halloween has become so popular that it is second only to Christmas in dollars spent on holiday decorating. Have a safe and Happy Halloween. And eat an extra piece of candy for me.

We have a holiday coming up that is perfect for the hopeless romantic. Although it isn’t as well known as Valentine’s Day it is still a perfect time to let someone who has done something sweet for you know that you care for them. We all know someone who makes our days brighter. Sweetest Day was originally started in the early 1900’s by a candy maker who wanted shut-ins and orphans to receive small gifts of candy to brighten there day. In the last 100 years it has changed somewhat to include anyone who has made your life a little sweeter. Whether you choose to honor your loved one or the neighbor next door Sweetest Day is the perfect time to let them know you care.

Every year approximately 180.000 people ,both female as well as male, will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Of those approximately 41,000 will die. October has become National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I urge all of you reading this , especially women to get a check up. Treatments are so advanced if detected early there are many treatments that can help you beat this disease. It is second only to skin cancer as the number one cancer killer in women. If you know a survivor or someone just starting the fight let them know that you are there for them. Support is very important. We here at Flora Rose support each and every one of you.
